Tiny URL

Using the free tinyurl website, I have registered a shortened URL for this blog. The normal URL http://littleorangerocket.blogspot.com/ is 39 characters long, whereas the shortened URL http://tinyurl.com/lorblog is only 26 characters. Not much smaller, but worth a try.

Rocket belt

The Rocket Belt is a small personal propulsion device strapped to the back of an individual, enabling a man or woman to rapidly and safely fly or leap over short distances like small rivers or ravines, landing safely upright.
It is an appropriate metaphor for this project as it represents the idea of individuals 'launching' into new territories in teaching and learning which has been enabled through innovation and technology. Approaching the subject matter and the teaching practice from a different or 'elevated' position can provide a new perspective.

This blog will be used as a reflective journal within a Masters of Education action-research project being undertaken in Semester 1, 2010.
The project involves research into my pedagogic practice as I implement a course of study within a Diploma of Interactive Digital Media using a flexible learning format. This blog will track my reflections on changes, decisions, strategies, reactions, successes and challenges.
